Return to Wolfenstein.... quite possibly the best FPS title this year

Post by Sith4dmin »

I have to take a break from playing Id Software's Return to Castle Wolfenstein Multiplayer Test. I have been completely smitten by this game. It 0wnz me. I see it whenever I close my eyes.

Id has done an excellent job of recreating the atmosphere of the second world war... the uniforms look good even if the Germans are wearing their armbands on the wrong arm. Realistic weapons are also everywhere... flame throwers, stens, thompsons, etc. Gah if you want a mini-review go to www.penny-arcade.com Tycho has posted a fairly good (and as usual humorous) one. Then pick up the MP test at www.fileplanet.com

Maybe you'll see me playing, I am either Sith4dmin or Dr Kevorkian (I sometimes play as a sort of shock medic... hehe).

I know how I am going to be spending my free time for the next month...

Too bad it crashed my system twice and then was removed. I guess I will have to stick to halflife tfc for my fps fix each week.
thanks, John.

When I tried to play it, the game was so jumpy/jerky I had to log off...lag was REAL bad too, and I'm on cable modem and selected a game with <100 ping.

Heh, I've been playing it for almost three days now and it's only crashed once. And the lag isn't too bad although at times it becomes unplayable, but I expect that out of my 56k.

Wait until you see Medal of Honor:Allied Assault. It was due in October, but was pushed back to February 2002. <img src="cool.gif" border="0">
