Some News on Updates and Rise of Rome

Hi everyone,

Some news on what's coming up as a result of the Rise of Rome release.

First, we'll be releasing an update for Field of Glory. We are trying to get this out today (we just received it). As long as nothing is wrong, that should be possible. The Slitherine release of the update should also work with our installations, but we're working to get our own official update installer out today too. The Multiplayer server has now been updated to work with Rise of Rome which unfortunately makes it incompatible with the original Field of Glory until it is updated (hence the rush on the update). Once you install the update for your copy of Field of Glory, you should be able to play on the server and play against owners of Rise of Rome as well.

Second, the release of Rise of Rome. This is going out today via Slitherine, but we are going to wait for the immediate post-release update planned for next week before putting out our release. We expect the release date to be the 15th/16th of March after we've had a chance to build the first post-release update into our gold master and go through the final QA process for our online store and the physical copies.

The price for Rise of Rome in our store will be the same as the normal price in the Slitherine store and as always there will be no difference in terms of updates or compatibility for multiplayer between the release in their store and the release in ours.

Apologies to Erik for dropping Matrix in it. We completely forgot they would need to update the Matrix version of FoG and are now working hard to try and get you the update ASAP. We'll be more organised in future - we just wanted to get the game out to everyone as soon as possible and got a bit over excited...

Just an update for everyone, we now have the master for ROR in our hands, including the first update. We expect to release another update for FOG today, with the Matrix release of ROR releasing next Tuesday.
