Question about assigning pilots

Question about assigning pilots

I notice that I can move some pilots first to group reserve and then to general reserve, but other pilots only have the option to go to group reserve and can not be sent to general reserve. Does anybody know why this is?

The unit has a withdrawal date. In this case, you need more pilots than the max size of the unit before you can transfer pilots to the general reserve. So add some pilots first, then start dumping guys into the general reserve.
