I like it. Sounds like a much smarter fitness training program, along with incorporating input from combat experienced vets. The only part I initially questioned was dropping bayonet training, but if they don't carry them anymore, why spend time training with them?

Well, if theyve come up with another way of instilling the "whites of their eyes" combat ferocity factor in the new boots, then sure. But bayonet drills have a value entirely outside of the use of a bayonet.

Interesting....doing yoga and playing tag. [:'(]

Actually, they had better make sure they build endurance as well. Five mile runs might be somewhat pointless but 10 mile marches with full loads certainly aren't.

It's a hell of a lot better than a Budweiser or Miller.

I need to mosey over there sometime and do the British beer tour. We can get beers from just about everywhere else in the world here.....except Britain. Go figure.

5 mile runs have plenty of point. They knock all the smartassedness out of boots, coupled with plenty of pushups, of course.

An hour of shuttles will knock it out of them just as fast, and will be developing more useful combat skills.

Question of the day for you foramites. Win 7 32 bit or Win 7 64 bit?

I currently use 32 bit as I run a lot of older software.

We like it that way. Incidentally. Did you know that Californians are the only Americans who dont have an accent?

As a memeber of Jimmy Carter's southern contingent said upon Carter's moving into the White House "we no longer have an accent, you do!".

One might argue that Californians don't have an accent , they have speach impediments. But When I was in the UK I most definately had pointed out to me that Californians do have a accent. There was a Paul Mason wine commercial there making fun of it. The students on exchange from UC Orange that were with us we not amused! [:D]
UC Orange? WTF? I think someone was having a go at you, Steve-dude. 'Taint no such thing, dude.

Speech impediment? Dude. [:-] Harsh, dude. [:'(]

Sorry , I wasn't there , never been there , don't know. I suppose that 32 students in 1983 might hsve simoltaneously decided to get together and pull the wool over my eyes, but thar seems a little strange. Irvine is in Orange county isn't it? Is it possible that 27+ years ago it might have referred to itself differenetly? I only ask because My University changed it's name 3 times in two years (I had so many parking stickers, and we didn't know if they were going to revert, so we kept them all!....It looked campaign ribbons for my car!). And the College that we all attended , would change it's name 3 time since.

So I don't know. (I also don't care , but that's irelevant).[:D]

A bit harsh? [&:] No I don't think so. And don't forget that traditionally (in both Europe and the Old west) A "dude" was an overdressed , out of touch fop! [:D]

Mynoks, chewing on the wires, nothing serious.
It doesn't make any sense, Admiral. Were we better than the Japanese or just luckier?

They dropped before. The major reason for bringing it back was to instill agressiveness.
