Far future of advances in 1's,10's,100's of millions,to billions,of years.

When considering advances in 'Distant Worlds' and in real life of THE far FUTURE also consider that those same advances may already exist NOW or have existed in the PAST, throughout the Universe and "Multiverse".

Maybe we will discover adavances left by others. Maybe others are and have been discovering advances left by others. Maybe we will trade for many advances; but we would most likely need some of our own to offer.
There are alot of maybe's there but that's part of what makes science fiction and real life future speculation interesting.

Super advanced ,magical like, high technologies and other advances of the far, distant future can be imagined to do just about anything including ways to safely travel far and fast.

An equivalant anti argument might be someone from the past stating that they believe in known science-based fiction thus they don't believe in magical advances such as fanciful flying machines, metal vehicles that could travel faster than a horse, near instant communication across hundreds of miles, etcetera.

Our future will have wonders that science fiction has both imagined and not imagined; especially when considering the future in millions, tens of millions, hundreds of millions, to billions, of years from now.

At some point in our past most scientists disbelieved many true things based on all the physics they knew of their time in history.
Science fiction has sensible and outlandish ideas that MAY come to be true. There are also the ridiculous science fiction ideas that may ALSO have a chance to come to be true...but it's all a matter of what unknown possibilites realities consist of and the direction taken by the potential millions of civilizations in each galaxy.

Other stories are less science fiction and more about philosophical, moral, and religious concerns.

I like to consider that many things might be possible we have imagined. Also many things that we have not even imagined due to possibilities we know not of, again, especially when considering the future in millions, tens of millions, hundreds of millions, to billions, of years from now.

The 'Culture' series of novels by Iain M. Bank has, to me, very interseting ideas of advances in the far future.

Personally I believe in THE far FUTURE we will be ruled by GIANT man-eating JELLYFISH, created by ourselves using genetic engineering!

That brings me to the most exciting technological advancement, stopping aging.
Considering that our cells only age because they have a built-in death-timer, researchers are already at work trying to figure out how to "disable it".
The exciting part is that its not even remotely magical (as nanobots once were). If cells stop aging, our bodies would simply just continue to renew and heal itself, as it does during most of or life.

As long as you'd have access to food, water and air, you could live forever. That wouldnt be all that great for evolution though, if you imagine a 10000 year old "version" of human that keeps reproducing while the later generations are more intelligent or whatever, but hey [:D]
The problem is, we'd need warpdrive before that, to have somewhere other than earth to "put everyone on".

Yeah, I think that there will soon be a "cure" for aging and that governments will need to institute new birth control regulations into the societies and culture of every nation. Well, I've heard and read this sort of information from scientists in various media.

Well, not exactly. The life span of men has not gotten all that much longer.

We've kept women alive during child birth thus extending women and children's life spans greatly in the past century.

Depends on your definition, but basically more people live longer driving the average lifespan up, yes.

Also depends on how far back we look.

If we look at ancient Egypt, the average age at dying for males were late 20s and early 30s, that's including Pharaohs.

So we've definitely extended our lifespans a lot via technology.

Maybe the extension isn't so big when looked at such a short span as a century, but when looked at the larger picture it definitely is.
