Bombing occupied AF and no planes killed?

Eagle Day to Bombing of the Reich is a improved and enhanced edition of Talonsoft's older Battle of Britain and Bombing the Reich. This updated version represents the best simulation of the air war over Britain and the strategic bombing campaign over Europe that has ever been made.

Bombing occupied AF and no planes killed?

Post by Rusty1961 »

So I hit my opponents airfield, where some 30+ FW 190Fs have landed some 10 minutes before my typhoons attack the field.

The 150 Typhoons nailed the field (no AA present) to 99% damage.

Yet, while watching the replay on message level 3, I see no planes damaged or destroyed.

Were they damaged but that information not given to me?

Or did I waste my time attacking a field where there are birds on the ground and no defenses for said birds?

You don't get any messages in the PBEM replay about planes shot up on the ground at all....zilch [:@]

You will get hundreds of messages about extra recon photos tho [8|]

I hear your pain. [:(]

The only way to get any idea is to check the number of aircraft destroyed on the ground in the daily campaign summary. Or ask your opponent if he is kindly enough. [&o]

What? that doesn't make any sense. There are these things called,"Gun cameras" which give a lot of information!

Oh well.

Thanks!

Rusty, 2 109G6s in the first nocturnal Mosquito raid on the field near Bremen, and 2 FW190Fs dive bombed by Spitfires yesterday, + 1 damaged FW and 2 damaged 109s(though these damaged ones might have been among the destroyed ones). [;)]

The runway was useless, they must have pushed the planes to the woods. Unlike the 109 jockeys sunbathing in their cockpits in the middle of the night and 4/10 weather. [:D]

EDIT: 150 Typhoons... You must mean Deelen and Schipol airfields you attacked during the early days. Well, I had moved the squads out of the field a day before and packed the Schipol field with AAA. [:D] Deeled was bombed once while it was occupied, but every aircraft it had was operational, 4 in reserve, and airborne when it was bombed, and runway was patched back to 20% damage before first FWs returned.

Ha Erikki!  Thank you for the information, but I'd prefer to see it with my own eyes (reports in the combat phase!).

I don't see why they don't allow the allied player to know this, with some FOW, as it enhances the fun of the game.
