Spread the word!

Distant Worlds is a vast, pausable real-time, 4X space strategy game which models a "living galaxy" with incredible options for replayability and customizability. Experience the full depth and detail of large turn-based strategy games, but with the simplicity and ease of real-time, and on the scale of a massively-multiplayer online game. Now greatly enhanced with the new Universe release, which includes all four previous releases as well as the new Universe expansion!

Spread the word!

Post by Erik Rutins »

Hi everyone,

One favor I would like to ask of all of you is that if you frequent other communities that might be interested in Distant Worlds, please help spread the word. We are very close to release and if you think Distant Worlds looks good and you'd like to see more games like this in the future, please help us spread the word now and make this as successful a release as possible. We think Distant Worlds is an outstanding game, but raising awareness among as many gamers as possible is our biggest challenge.

Also, you can look forward to a new Combat video next week. [8D]

Thanks in advance!

I personally have already started doing so. There just isn't enough good 4X space games out there for my tastes anyway. :)

Will do at my site and community.

I already started threads about Distant Worlds a while back at these forums:
(Feel free to post in them or start new threads there or other places.) I'm sure that Distant Worlds will sell well if it has well done reviews and YouTube videos. An opening cinematic trailer would be good too. Heh.

I already posted several times on the Galciv2 and Sins forums on the game. I could bump the threads again.

This seems to be a good site Distant Worlds is already on:
"Space Strategy Games Sector. Everything about Space Strategy Games. 4X, Turn-Based, Real-Time. Reviews, News, Discussions and more."

http://www.spacesector.com/

Maybe they can do a review after release.

Thanks for spreading the word on my site Wade1000 :) Hope you guys hang around and register in the forums (and tell your friends about it).

I've already made a Distant Worlds first impressions at SpaceSector.com: http://www.spacesector.com/blog/2010/01 ... tegy-game/ (it's one of the most popular posts by the way)

The idea will be to write a review after DW is released (that I guess will be in the 23rd of March right?)

I first want to see if the game is worth recommending? If it is, I will gladly recommend it

Yes, let's see how good it is first. I'd feel a bit of a fool waxing lyrical about something only to find out it's rubbish. Having said that, from all the hype and info etc. it does looks really rather good!!!!!

Yeah, I haven't been able to shut up out Distant Worlds for the last few weeks now. I strongly suspect most of my friends are getting quite sick of hearing about it by now -- that, or they've been converted into the cult and are eagerly waiting for this game like I am. [:D]

That being said, I've been careful to try and avoid hyping up DW *too* much. As drillerman has pointed out, we obviously can't really know what the game is going to be like until we get it in our greedy little paws and play it.

With that proviso in mind, however, I do think I'm going to enjoy my time with this title once it's actually installed on my computer. I anticipate many late nights ahead.... [8D]

No luck at my front. Reaction was exactly the same as about Victoria An Empire under the Sun.

OMFG how can you play something like that! [:D]

But what do they know? I'm alone in the middle of MPRS - Mass Produced Rubbish Software - sea. He, he, and it isn't at all bad!

You're welcome. I like spacesector.com. It's well organized with great explanations of many games.

Oh yeah, I've been doing my best to let folks know about Distant Worlds. I've been talking about the game on several different sites, including having just started a new discussion over at TotalWar.org.

And of course, most of us folks over at the Wargamer are absolutely rabid for DW. Things have reached such a fever pitch there that I worry some of us are going to have nervous breakdowns before it gets released! [:'(]

I don't believe DW has a Facebook page. It would be an excellent idea to have one, however!
