Usually now, I wait before I go out and buy a game right away. The only exceptioin is The Elder Scorlls Saga.
Even despite the hallow shell of an RPG that was Oblivion? Oblivion was such a dissappointment to me when compared to the greatness of Daggerfall and Morrowind.

Anyway, I am planning on buying it on release-day but it will depend a bit on the initial reactions at the forums.
yes even what Oblivion was. Oblivion actually grew on me. I didn't play it as much because after day 3, it became disapointing, but after a few months, I loved it. Yes it wasn't Morrowind 2, but I fell in love with it, and will support Bethesda TES games.

I am willing to give Matrix and Codeforce a shot. Again, I don't think a 4X games need cutting edge graphics. These are pretty enough, they don't need to be OMFG WOW graphics. As long as game play is great, we really don't need graphics. Hell, I even love playing MOOI still and those are way outdated graphics.

Depends on how long to release and if something else pops up that I am interested in. I don't have time for everthing and I have to watch my money. But we will see.[:D]

I don't mind since my country was one of those SMART EU nations that didn't join the Euro(Economic)zone [:'(]

In fact, it's just become cheaper for me to buy stuff from say Germany and France.

I will try to buy it as soon as it is released. :)

But as I am stuck with satellite DSL, it will take me a while to D/L it. :(

So if all you Broadband user's are "hogging" the bandwidth then I'll get mine a bit later. ;)

I will be buying it as soon as it's released, too!

... So long as it IS less than $50, which it sounds like it will be. I'm not a huge fan of early adopting without reading reviews, but seeing the videos and the ecstatic nature of the beta-testers on these forums is a pretty good 'review' for me!

Yep, buying it as soon as it's released also. However... it depends on what time it's released as Matrix are on US time, and I live in the UK...we'll see I guess! :)

Well I *was* planning on buying the game today or, at worst, tomorrow. If it's not being released til Friday, however, then I might as well wait til next week, as I have to work all bloody weekend. [:@]

(I have tomorrow off, so of course the game probably isn't coming out tomorrow now. Typical, really....) [:(]

Martok, what kind of job do you have that you have to work all of the weekend?

I have the same problem - weekend work! But I can't see, why the game should't come out by tomorrow

I am in the same boat. No work, no call backs after sending out lots of resumes. I rather be working as well. Well I do hope the game comes out today or tomorrow, if not, money will be gone for other things, and then have to wait 2 weeks when wife gets paid. [:(]

I'm getting Distant Worlds right away. I don't have a credit card, but Paypal will suffice. I have been looking for a good old extensive (some would call it 'difficult') 4X game and this game fits the bill. Just reading the shipdesign AAR made me drool.

So, hopefully, I can place my order tonight (in the wee hours of the morning) and start building an empire!
