insert disk2 error on install

Post by Rowdy »

S! Did any of you experience this when downloading and installing the game? It asks for disk 2 and I have no idea what it wants. The game only loads to 15megs and is playable, but I thought it was a 300+ download. What gives?

Hi you did not get a clean download/install and game is looking for missing files. Since it can not find it asks for disk2 use download software like getright/gozilla and try again.

I had the same problem. I was loading it from a CD, so it wasn't a download problem. Intially I thought the files on the Cd may be corrupt. It isn't uncommon.

I gave up and cursed the CD, as one would.

I had also been having a few other problems around the same time. Mainly with IE and Outlook. I reinstalled/repaired those programs but it didn't help, so I used System File Checker. It found a number of crook windows files. I repaired/replaced them and my computer settled down somewhat.

I then decided to have another go at installing SPWAW. No problems. This may not apply to your situation but its probably worth trying anyway

Patch 4 I had the same problem on 3 different machines with 3 different operating systems, I believe it was with.0? The install kept asking for disk #2, so I re-downloaded it numerous times, with always the same result. Since there was no disk 2 just cancel out. In all cases the program ran fine and recognized itself as being patched up, by displaying the proper version number. After that, I also didn't waste any time installing the next patch either.
