RE: CTD
Thanks Bob,
I regularly play with more than one victory condition without an issue. Any chance you can tell us exactly which ones you have set, it may help us try to reproduce this.
Regards,
- Erik

RE: CTD
Ok, not seeing this at all here. If I understand you correctly, you do not get an instant CTD when setting multiple victory conditions, but you are seeing some kind of CTD later in the game if you choose more than one?
Did the crashes you experience come up with any error messages at all? What was the rough range of time from when you set those conditions to when you experienced a crash?
There must be something else going on here as I played for at least 12 hours yesterday with multiple victory conditions without a crash, but it may well be behaving differently on your system than on mine.
Could you please post a DxDiag for us too?

RE: CTD
No, you can check all of the victory conditions if you want. I'm trying to figure out also how you are certain that this has to do with victory conditions if the crash is happening later at a random time and without any more info?
The generic message is more like a windows error, I would also try turning off any anti-virus/security software to see if it may be stepping on the game as it's running. Also try turning off Windows DEP if it's on, here are instructions for that:
1. Click Start 2. Select Control Panel 3. Select System 4. Click the Advanced tab 5. In the Performance region select Settings 6. Click the Data Execute tab in the dialog box that opens 7. Select Turn on DEP for all programs and services except for those I select 8. Click Add. 9. The open dialog box will open. Browse and select your application. 10. Click Open 11. Click Apply 12. Click Ok 13. Reboot

RE: CTD
I'm getting the same problem - and It definitely seems to be related to the victory conditions somehow.
My first 5 or so games were using the same settings, with the default top three conditions on, and the game crashed about 2 mins after starting the clock.
the next game is a sandbox, and I've played for 15 mins with no problems. the quickstart game also seems to work fine.

RE: CTD
In the next to last paragraph on page 9 in the manual, "The player wins by doing one of the following, depending upon the victory conditions the player chooses prior to the game: (1) controlling a selected percentage of the total galactic territory, (2) ruling a certain percentage of the galactic population, (3) generating a certain percentage of the galactic economy, or by simply having the greatest strategic value (4) at the pre-set time limit for the game." Are the conditions then singular?

RE: CTD
That's only meant to point out that achieving any of those will grant victory, but you can still set multiple conditions.
Elliot is investigating this, we just can't duplicate it here yet (games with multiple victory conditions are not crashing for us yet).
If one of you can start a game, save it and then confirm that it crashes for you, please upload the save file for us and point us to it on this thread (see the upload information I just posted at the top of this forum please).

Uploaded a file, 1 Victory Condition, crashes repeatedly about 30-60 seconds after loading the game.

RE: CTD
Elliot has reviewed it and according to him we believe we have fixed all the crash issues from uploaded saves. Let's hope! We'll start internal testing soon and I'll test against your save then.
