Ship Orders

Post by 4xfan »

So far, I am having a tough time with the AI giving my ships orders. I am having pirate attacks in several areas, but the AI is piling on my escorts (patrol) in a single spot. Any ideas? I would like the AI to continue to control them due to refueling issues.

If you have the money I would suggest building more frigates and escorts and setting them to automated. They will then patrol and escort, protecting your stuff.

The AI selects items to patrol/protect based on their relative importance to your empire - so they might currently be clustering around a critical item, e.g. maybe a gas mining station that supplies fuel for your empire.

So if you don't have enough military ships to go around, some lesser priority items may not get patrolled.
