Private sector disband Exploit?

Okay I am not sure of the effect his would have but I wonder.

You go through and disband an bunch of your private sector ships. This forces them to buy ships from you to replace the ones you disbanded therefore your income goes up?

Would this work? What are the disadvantages? There should be some disadvantages to this.

That would be a cool exploit - except you can't do it. You cannot disband private sector ships - don't think they'd like it if you tried [:)]

Incbob, how can you manipulate private sector ships to disband? I can't interact with them at all...

Question! Will the privately owned ships eventually refit themselves? Same with mining bases? I ask, because recent pirate and bug incursions have forced a rather radical redesign of my forces/outposts towards heavier shields/faster engines.

I disbanded a passenger ship so I was able to interact with it. I am not sure if I have a save game with it, but if I can do it again I will save the game and post it.

Do you remember how you disbanded it? Right clicked or accessed a menu and did it?
