I just upgraded to AE edition, and ...

Post by Deckard B26354 »

Hello everyone. Long-time WITP player. Decided to take the plunge and recently upgraded to WITP AE. I am really enjoying some of the new changes, such as much improved AI, more units, etc. But I am really, really liking the much more detailed reports during battles for aircraft and ships. For aircraft, such as: 'losing engine pressure', 'guns jam', 'has oil leak', 'out of ammunition', 'falls out of formation', 'controls unresponsive', etc. This kind of detail really adds to game play for me. Very enjoyable. I have to admit, I am now actually watching these battles closely, with my message delay set to 3.5 seconds so I can follow the details. In WITP, I would never bother. Was never interesting to watch. This addition alone was worth the upgrade for me. Great work on this AE edition, dev team. [:D]

Please don't scare me like that. [:)]

But seriously, I have actually already encountered a few AI surprises that really caught me off guard. Good stuff. [:D]

Wait until you see the 12 division invasion of the Eastern US. [;)]

And when you think you have things figured out, download Andys Ironman scenarios and try them out. [8D]

Welcome to the party, Deckard! I also love those new air-combat messages. Even after watching them for months, I haven't grown tired of them -- I never skip through them anymore, whereas I used to routinely skip air-combat in WITP unless it was particularly interesting. Also glad to hear the AI is giving you surprises -- it's much improved over WITP. I'm having a blast in my current PBEM, but I look forward to more AI play too. :)
