Not even close. Pax imperia was more like regular 4x game. This game is more like MOO3 with its macro control of your empire.

Its very complex, and very good. It has some issues though, but nothing that will make you hate it.

DW is above all the rest IMO. This is what MOO3 was supposed to be. But DW leaves every other game in it's dust.

Ah Pax Imperia. I never played the game. I had it installed, but didn't play it. I tried to play it, but couldn't. I can't remember why I never played it. I think the manual was horrible, and I couldn't learn how to play it. I just didn't know what to do. So I can't really compare how the 2 games are.

Well Pax imperia did have Carriers and fighters though.

I remember the fleets I use to make and had large number of carriers, and if you attacked a system correctly your fleet would start way back on the map, which would allow your fighters to move up quick and bust the hell out of the AI before your main fleet arrived.

Had a name for it too, even put it on the forum. Something about a barn door lol.

No carriers in DW though.

This pisses me off. Still bad? Is that all you can say? Wow the internet really made us lazy now eh? Can't say more than 2 words? Come on, let us not become a society who is lazy and can't even come up with more than two words. [:D]

There are alot of people who can say that Moo3 is a good game with all the mods that were made. Well I find that with the mods that the people made, that Moo3 is not a good game. I played many hours with it. Is it a great game? I wouldn't say it was, but I say it is a good game. Alot of things were fixed, alot of mods have changed the game.

Still

Not even close.

Not true. Both games are real time (in fact the only fully RTS 4x games that i can remember, besides highly unpopular Remember Tommorow).

They have similar (but not the same) space battles that are also real time. Though while pax paused the game and launched the combat in a separate window in DW everything happens simultaneously.

They have also similar research. However in Pax you could pick the tech from the list and thus focusing this topic on that particular item in DW you can`t do that, but you have much more topics though. In both games you wont get a more advanced item without researching its predecessor first. Other games don`t have such strait research as the both games have.
