What is the 3 cictle triangle thingy by the planets name?

I thought these were ruins in the system. Well I never saw it before, but now I noticed when I zoomed out of my system, that my home planet has it. So I zoom all the way in, and as soon as I am about 2 or 3 scrolls from zooming all the way in my home planet, the 3 circle triangle disapears from my planets name. I see no ruin or building on the planet, so now I am dumbfounded and wodner what it means.

The upright triangular dots on a planet indicate the presence of ancient ruins on that planet. If the dots are dark grey, that means the ruins on the planet have not been discovered yet. If the dots are white, that means someone's already 'discovered' them and claimed the bonus / suffered from bad luck.

Well the dots are white. I just started the game. Again, there is no ruins on the planet at all. No icon or picture at all. I can't understand how someone could discover them as soon as the game begins. I didn't know about the white dots or dark grey dots. Thank you very much for your explanation.

Ok, I looked really hard, and I saw a fuzzy icon. It was really dark. It is called the Lofty Gate. So I do have one, it was really hard to see.

If your homeworld has a ruins on it, that's a really good game to start off in. Your main money maker for the early game will be the colony taxes you collect from your homeworld, and the extra development bonus you get from having those ruins on your planet will really help out!
