Mining Stations left behind by Planet

Post by sbach2o »

I have a number of mining stations in my game that aren't attached to the planet they were built at any more. They stay put at a fixed place in orbit somewhere, and aren't functional there.

The annoying thing is, I cannot get rid of these mines, and I probably cannot build new stations on these planets either, I think. They have typically valueable luxury resources that I wanted ASAP. There was also a gas mining station among those, but in that case a pirate came to the rescue. [;)]

I am not sure, but I suspect these stations were in their majority ordered through the expansion planner. It may be I ordered a few of them through the right-click menue with a construction ship selected. Not all definitely.

Edit: Damn! Wrong forum. This should have gone into 'Tech Support'.

Might I suggest using the ingame editor to remove the offending station?

This is a bug - I've seen it on occasion and we just haven't been able to pin it down yet. If anyone sees exactly what is causing this or how it happens, please let us know.

I tried the editor to remove the mining stations in question yesterday. I couldn't figure out how to do it, or if it is possible at all.   To Erik: Well, I was wondering whether a savegame would be helpful, but since you have seen it for yourself, that shouldn't be the case. Beyond my musings on whether it may be related to the expansion planner, which is complete speculation, I cannot help regarding the 'how it happens'.   I had a total of four or five occurances, so any correlation could be just by chance.   I wonder what'll happen if I try to colonize an affected planet. Probably will soon have the opportunity to try it out. [:D]

The last set of tools contain a sort of different erasers. Pick the first one and point it on your station. Left-click when you see its details (as if you were just pointing over it without editor).
