Ships inspired by Starflight?

I've been enjoying Distant Worlds quite a bit, and every time I go to design a ship I can't help but notice the uncanny similarity between a few ship images and ships from Starflight.

I think I've seen Spemin and Thrynn for sure. Is this by design or just my imagination?


Absolutely love the game btw ready to buy expansions in the future :)

Agreed. So much so that I went to starflt.com and got the dosbox version. Fun for about 30 seconds. "Hey kids, this is how I spent the 80's!"

I remember playing that on my Sega. A fun "Freelancer" type game for the time.
