Patrolling

Post by aspo »

Is there any way to tell a fleet to patrol an entire system? I can tell them to patrol one planet or base, but I can't figure out how to have a small force of ships dedicated to the entire system. I've tried telling them to patrol the star, but then they just sit there at the center of the system. So I have to park all the ships at one planet and any time there's a problem in the system, I go find the defense fleet and send them off do their thing.

try to right-click the star of the system you wish the fleet to patrol. i think there is an option in the context menu for that.

How does one get a fleet to patrol a particular sector? Or should I just set my frigates to automated to check on remote mining stations, research stations, etc? I'm trying to keep my fleets somewhat organized but find it turns into fubar quickly.

Thanks.

Are you sure that works?  That may solve one of my annoyances where you have to manually hunt down those scouts that like to lay-in-wait at the outer rim of the systems.   Even if you don't have a very large empire, that's very time consuming.

So far they seem to be making smores at the star and not checking the rest of the system.
