ship design problems

Post by jnpoint »

First I design a ship with 'copy as new' - ok.
All the way I leave the automation on - ok
Then I keep playing the game and build some ships - ok
But the ship design is not my new one???? why not??

Not shure what you mean. If you pick the "copy as new" of say a destroyer. If the name was Matrix, then the new name is "copy of matrix". I usually delete the "copy of" part and then put in a MK II so I know it was my design. Once I click Save (or is it OK? I never paid attention to it lol) it replaces the Matrix and the new one is there then. If you want to use the old ship then you will have to unchecke the "use latested design" box.

I can't understand why your new designe is not your new one. Are you shure the old desing wasn't being made first before you made your new design? Are you shure you saved your new design? Otherwise I am at a loss why it's not working. Erik from Matrix will not be back till Monday or Tuesday because of Easter, so he can't comment on it, unless he drops in quickly. He is very good at answering our questions.

You'd better "obsolete" the old design. Even them there has been bug reports of AI building obsolete AI design instead of player designs (AI is racially oriented lol !)

Yes, that is what happens - my new design is ignored somehow.

Maybe I should try, what you suggest PDiFolco!

Unless the old design had some advantage (like being cheaper or faster to build), obsoleting the old design might work out very well...
