Construction screen doesn't display build items

Anybody else having this problem? See picture for better explanation.





As you can see the drop down box right below the available funds is blank.

Could it be because DS (I can't read it, just make out the D and S) is highlighted as well in the construction yard? Or is the first ship highlighted as well? Did you delete or obsolete all your ships by chance? I did that once in a game, deleted and or obsolete the ship designs so my que would be so cluttered.

Right after the game was created I went into the game editor and deleted all my ships and bases. Then I went back into the game and deleted all the starting designs. After that I loaded my own personal designs and then I went back to the editor and placed my ships and bases. The first time I did this it worked, the designs showed up in the construction drop down box. They do show up if I right click the base or planet in the main map. Not sure what you mean by ds, but if you are talking about the one ship in the queue its a passenger ship. Now that I think of it I don't remember seeing any of the ports building any freighters. Doesn't mean they aren't being built just that I don't remember it.

Edit: Went backed and looked and I found out that none of my freighter designs are being built by the AI and the ones I placed are not being used.

By DS I ment the name of the ship in your picture that is in the que to getting ready to be built. Dsomething Sancutary if I make it out correctly.

I never loaded any previous builds from ships I made from a different game, so sorry, I can't help you there. I have no idea now why it does this.

About your freighters not being built, did you delete your mines as well from the moons? I did that in a game, and since I was getting no resources, it took forever for me to build anything.

I did, but I replaced them with my own design. It turns out that the AI is building freighters using a design from some other list and when I click on the upgrade button the program gives it a name off of another list as well. 

Edit: Here's what I have learned, the 'private sector' of my empire does not use my designs when building ships or bases. This really needs to be fixed if anyone want's to play a game with their own designs. The AI doesn't even use the freighters I specifically placed at the beginning of the game. I really like this game, but all of these little things that keep popping is beginning to turn me away from the game.

This could also be a bug. I can't remember for sure if I read it somewhere else, that the AI using obsolete desings that you have marked obsolete. This may or may not be addressed in the next patch. I havn't played much, (I keep restarting all the time, even when I say I will not restart lol) so I havn't come up with this yet. I would like to put weapons on my frieghters so if they get attacked by pirates they can take care of themselves. Ala Han Solo

I think the way you put weapons on freighter is to make a copy of the design and then save the design as the same name as the original. I remember trying that and it seemed to work. Yea I keep restarting as well. I'm trying to figure out what I need to do to get all the parts sorta working and incorporate my own scenario.

You also need to check ship size's.......if you go over 200....they cannot be built until you get the next const yard researched.........pretty easy to go over the 200 mark with that last weapon.

It doesn't show any ships or bases to be constructed at either the port or planet. It's kinda frustrating having to right click on the planet or base in order to build anything. Yes I have lots of ships under 200.

I forgot about the 200 limit. Yeah if the ship is too big, then your ship yard might not be able to build it.

Not sure what's going on here Deomrve. The restrictions on what shows up in the list here are: 1. The design is for a state-owned ship type (e.g. military ships, exploration, etc) 2. The design is NOT obsolete 3. Your empire's construction tech allows building a design of that size

Feel free to upload a savegame for me to look at.

This is due to a bug where the AI doesn't get your updated designs. This has been fixed in the upcoming patch - the AI will use your freighter designs, etc, when building ships in the next patch.

I think I got it figured out, The ships and bases were not showing up be cause I had a component that either wasn't researched yet or was a component from another race. So that means I have to be careful if I want to load a saved ship design file.
