a HIPER TOP SECRET matter

Post by deVada »

PBEM mode ...

I got a strange feeling that no one wants to write about noncompatibilities between what Allied player sees in VCR and the Battle Report ...

Is this a secret ???

No one around the world encountered such strange game behaviour ???

No one checks it ?

Or maybe I use too much drugs ?

Send me a SECRET email ...

VCR replies and battle reports

Post by Chmee »

Hello,
I believe this is one of those 'long know bugs that all users are well awared of'. But seriously, I'm sure I've seen a thread concerning this subject some (rather long) time ago. The problem was related to saving and loading during the turn execution and originated by the fact that VCR replies are not real replies. They are based on the assumption that a random number generator seed remains unchanged. So if that seed is altered in any way you will see a completely different history in the 'reply'. The battle report, however, stores the informations that your opponent has seen. Check the archive for details.
Cheers; Chmee
