Technically, it's already windowed, but the borders are hidden, taking away the option to resize it

if this is true problem solved...

my only reason for wanting to run in a window is so that alt-tab doesn't cause all those lame alt-tab issues which fullscreen video card usage usually triggers....

i always resize windows to be fullscreen anyways when playing a video game

i confirm this. no problem with opening i.e. firefox, taskmanager or other programs.
