Asteroids with names?

I am starting a new game, and in my home system there is a big debirs of asteroids. In there is an abandonded space station, and just off to the side, there is an asteroid. It is greenish in shape, and called a metal asteroid. But the thing is, this has a name. It is named Hidden Jewel. I thought this was a name of a ship. Should I send a ship to explore this or what? I never seen any other green coured asteroids with names before.

Does anyone know what this is?

i think it's a scenic location. Send an exploration ship :D

I did, nothing happened. All it said was my exploaration ship completed it's mission. I guess I will try and see if I can build a resort there now.
