Question regarding a hidden encounter *Spoiler*

Is it meant to be that you can only grab one or two of the ships in the Arms Testing Zone, and then be unable to investigate any more? I have a exploration ship flying at all of them, and only a couple of them pop up a dialogue box.

Use a constructor ship for the others.

if you hover above them and it shows a red crosshairs, they are damaged and a constructor needs to repair them.
if you hover and you don't see it, then right click on it and select "investigate"... sometimes it gets 'missed'

Had a nice addendum to this event. The location of the testing grounds was quite distant and I had constructor ships working very hard elsewhere. So only one to use repairing the broken ships. My constructor ran out of fuel after repairing its first cruiser, limped its way home, refueled, and returned to get the next ship.

!!!There are no more there!!!!

Turns out a race (can't remember their name - rodent creatures) had either found the same site, or more likely spied off me (I did catch a rodent spy subsequently, which was lucky as they have very good spying bonuses), and must have had the mission 'examine territory'.

Knowing about the testing grounds they'd snuck in and retrieved the remaining ships!!

How cool is that?!!

this is why i never, ever, EVER let the AI see my maps... if an AI gets your maps, they will go for those... got a world destroyer being built? expect it to be swamped by AI...

mmm... i should really stop buying "all" the locations of such spots from the pirates as well... since i have to manually explore them, but if the AI spies steal my maps they will go after all of them at once.
