Porked?

Reinstalled this to get back into it ready for AtD2 and it seems tutorial 1 is porked.

1. The attached pic shows the AoO for 21st Tank Corps. First problem is the manual says it shows RED where the unit can't go...but all I get is grey
2. The manual says the AoO for this unit is very small and pretty useless...well if the un-greyed area is showing the AoO, then it's showing it as a pretty effective are to work in.

The next thing is the manual says to click on the next button and you see the AoO expand to a more useful level - as you can see from the pick, I've clicked the button and teh AoO hasn't changed in the slightest. The two victory conditions required for the AoO to expand are present...but the AoO hasn't budged

1. It says the off limits area shows as red, and it doesn't.
2. When you click on each button for the unit in the tutorial, the AoO doesn't change

Strangely enough, I'm sure I remember the AoO showing as red in the game when I first bought it...so was the colour changed in the recent patch? Or has it changed at all since my original purchase?

And is the first tutorial really porked? Looking at the Kharkov battle proper, it seems it is as the AoO changes on the Kharkov battle...but not on the tutorial Lesson 1.

If I recall, one of the earlier patches did indeed mess up tutorial. When i first played it, the Patch had already been released so I installed before I knew that - and the tutorial made no sense at that point. I ended up reinstalling and going through the tutorial and then applying the patch.

Go to the options screen from the welcome screen, check the color, patch 1.11 introduced 5 color options.

You must have changed the AO to white.

The AO will appear as white in every scenario you play.

If you change the AO to red then it will be red.

Not only do you have a choice of colours but each colour comes in multiple shades.

This has been discussed in 2 other threads: the tutorial is porked for 1.2 (and maybe 1.1 too). But it works if you play the tutorial before installing the patch, except that of course you will not have the features introduced in the patch.

mmm...ok. So the tutorial is porked so I'll resinstall and leave off the patches until I'm done

Joe 98 - I didn't change any colour

I'm fine with it white. It just threw me that the tutorial mentioned red and mine showed as white...that and I remember it being red from when I first had the game installed (before my system crash).

Just to confirm, reinstalled the game and without patching the tutorials work. So I'll continue with the tutorials again and then patch when playing the game

I'd already installed the new patch but I also need to revisit the tutorial since it's been so long since I played Kharkov. I've put it back to plain vanilla and if it gives me the warm fuzzies I'll go ahead and get ATD2. [:)]
