The logic of empire

Post by Lanconic »

I dont like the way the troops are handled.
It takes forever to get enough men to one spot to obtain an objective.
That is exactly what a General Staff is supposed to handle.

It takes so long to train a strike unit, that the enemy could build the Maginot Line while we all die
of old age.

Which means......the only cost effective means of reducing the enemy war making ability is build killer packs of CA
and orbital bombard.

Because in this came the only way to remove an enemy, in a timely way is, to reduce the planet to rubble.

I'd love to see a fleet command button for loading/unloading troops. Intensely dislike having to micro this.

Orbital bombardment is best. Keep those nasty, dirty bugs out of your empire.

In response to the original poster, I try to maintain a "strike force" in times of peace. You can load them up on troop transports. Two troop transports disembarking 8 units at once is generally enough to take any planet except a home planet. What setup are you generally using in terms of your strike force?

Remember this game moves thru days-so 3 months or longer(game time) would be realistic. Just instantly getting them up to speed would be unrealistic. So sorry I would have to disagree with you.[;)] I like the system the way it is.[:)]

E.R. said it: Have a strike-force ready in times of peace.  While you're doing other stuff...
