Great pocket in Kharkov, pleasure to watch it.
I think so too. I may have to make a mini-movie to show it's shrinking speed per turn.

Maybe next one in Moscow
Wouldn't that be cool. Maybe I can engineer something like that before '43 arrives.

Okie dokie: I've finished Axis turn 80 and published the AAR here:

http://www.mediafire.com/file/qqzmmrtnm ... 0 AAR.html

Also, I've put together the next collection of AAR's ....this one is turns 71 throu 80 and you can find it here:

Okie dokie....I finished Axis turn 81 and published the AAR here:

I finally captured Kharkov and Stalino.  There's a possibility that I might be able to develop another pocket down south.  That would be way cool.

I've put together a mini-movie showing the explosive growth of the bulges from turns 70 through 81 and I thought you guys might like to see it. You can find it here:

D, I think you are giving ground up too easily. For example, why are you withdrawing in Stalino when you got plenty of units to plug the line with? You don't need a line 2 units deep where the enemy isn't attacking.

Maybe true. You mean 6. Army in south? Yes but that isn't enough to plug hole, and it was too far away. This turn i carried 27. A into area and its looking better now.

And i did little withdraw because i don't want another big pocket like Kharkov for while, Larry just brought couple panzer and Pzgr divisions into that area, so there was serious kind of encirclements possible.

Edit: T81 report coming soon... [8D]

Turn 81

29. March - 31. March 1942
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Withdrawal in Don front was nice success. I got much better positions and now line is bit stronger also. Here's shot from overall situation in south.
Note, all cities marked on map worth 5% production except Kharkov, which is 10%. Fulkerson captured Kharkov and Stalino this turn.

Here's picture from Orel front, where fulkerson's panzer division did little hole this turn, but i patched it succesfully with 23. Mech Corps.

Actually I mean anywhere where you have a line that the enemy hasn't penetrated or isn't attacking. For example in Stalino you can remove every second unit from the 2nd line and move them north to block the advance. Then just keep rolling back, the key is not to stop the attack, it is to stop any penetration of your line, and for that it is enough to only control ZOCs in the second line.

Turn 82 is the first of the spring '42 mud turns so there was no fighting etc.  I didn't think you guys wanted an AAR that showed only the front lines so I thought I'd just post the picture here:  Here's the front lines as of the beginning of turn 82.

Turn 85 overall situation

Post by Da_Huge_D »

Okies guys: Its still mud going on, and we're at turn 85 now. Here's overall situation of whole eastern front at end of turn. I think Larry is going to start Case Blue offensive (shock raises 120 for 10-turns) soon after mud(?) [8|]

FITE Turn 90

Post by larryfulkerson »

I finished the first turn after the spring '42 mud season:  turn 90.  The AAR is published here:

http://www.mediafire.com/file/imdfhymyz ... copy.html

The Kharkov pocket is gone and we're back to WWI-style, toe-to-toe, grinding, slow, pre-breakthrough, shooting at each other.

Hard pushing has captured a couple of hexes here and there.  Case Blue should start about turn 92 or so.

I gained several hexes from several areas on the map.  I did one of those fabulous moving maps to see which hexes changed hands this turn.

Turn 92 - Case Blue

Post by Da_Huge_D »

Turn 92

*Axis Operation 'Case Blue' begins*

6. May - 9. May 1942
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, Larry launched Case Blue offensive now, and south doesn't look good. Here's shot from Southern front. I carried (reconstructed) fresh 1. Shock Army to area. I fear that rumanians and germans will tear thru' my line in this area soon.
Also, as you can see i lost City of Voroshilograd (5%) this turn.

Turn 92 - Case Blue begins

Post by Da_Huge_D »

Here's overall situation in south at end of turn 92. Germans have about 12 panzer divisions and 7 PzGr. (Panzergrenadier) divisions in south ATM. Should i be worried? LOL

Between 26th army and 5th tank corps is where your line will be broken, you left the ZOCs uncontested there.

I don't see any uncontested ZOCs there. Could you be a litte bit more specific?

I mean the area behind the two rifle divisions, should have one unit there to block the ZOCs.
