...and the timeframe of when it might be removed is extremely vague.

Sylvia Brown has made quite a good living from being EXTREMELY VAGUE.  Maybe Norb can too.

But to be quite frank, I wouldn't trust either of them more than I would the Israel government.

Whatever. This is infantile.

I dunno. [:)]

Fellas can go stomping all over the Internet dropping little poo-bombs.

If no one calls them out, then that's just the way it is, now isn't it?

Occasionally, IMHO, a "moment of clarity" can prove useful.

Please show some respect for our readers.

There are some bat-out-of-hell-great games that are being published by Matrix Games, DRM free! [8D]

Our audience is not nearly so dim-witted as you appear to presume.

Nothing personal. [:)]

But, I'm absolutely certain that our readers will want to be apprised of the status of this DRM removal, yes/no, and when.

Because of the way that this has played out, I'm, likewise, certain that anything less will be perceived as some sort of obfuscation on the part of the developer/publisher.

Pros...

1. No explicit DRM installed.
2. Very inexpensive to purchase.
3. Can be played solo.
4. Will probably outlast the publisher.
5. Does not require an internet connection for solo play.
6. User designed campaigns.
7. Completely compatible with all operating systems.
8. Comes with a no questions money back guarantee.
9. Does not require an internet connection for activation.
10. Rules are easily adapted for any environment.
11. Multi-player compatible and recommended for maximum enjoyment.
12. Multi-player does not require a dedicated server.
13. Massive Multi-player compatible.
14. Patches will only require use of cut and paste commands.
15. No waiting for any required patches.
16. Can increase circulation.

Cons...

1. Will require patches as time goes on and new DRM's are added.
2. Potential for a "lock up" can run to the high side.
3. An epiphany could cause face time your family**.
4. Could cause veiled implications regarding starving Canadians and Canadian government corruption.
5. Could cause unveiled implications of participation in global conspiracies.

Now why isn't everyone playing?

You guys just crack me up!

Why does the DRM matter if it's going to be removed?

No kidding, do you think that the folks that read this forum are total idiots?

What DRM? There is no DRM in the forum game Chris Merchant and I are talking about (don't confuse our joke with the actual game that has DRM).

No, I think most everyone read the context and didn't miss our point that "THE GAME" to play IS really THE FORUM itself (you even quoted the pros and cons of playing it), NOT that other publisher's game. Those who have no problem with DRM have it or will buy it. Those who have a problem with it are already smart enough to know that the DRM is still installed and not to hold their breath on that changing.

I also think that most everyone saw your issues regarding this thread had already been addressed to Erik's satisfaction.

Someone forgot to take their medication.

Were that the case, it would be "Kind of sad really....", but your comment is, nonetheless, off-topic.

A member of the forum posted news that the DRM was being removed from a game that he enjoys playing:

Gettysburg DRM to go bye bye!

Huzzah?

Well, maybe, someday. [:(]

Maybe the OP can't find the edit button. Or aliens abducted him. Or sumfink

Is the DRM going to be removed or not?

Yes.

When? - On the second Tuesday of next week. (any correlation to Wimpy's Hamburger Repayment Schedule is entirely coincidental, and very few hamburgers were harmed much, in the making of this commercial)

Why post here? - The post was made because it was step #32 of the Global Domination Through DRM Conspiracy Checklist (aka: the GDTDCC). The OP was just following orders. (Note: If you have a problem with step #32, you might want to shut off your internet connection, because you're REALLY not going to like it if they have to use Option B of Step #69. The good news is that the step may not make you a loser, it will make you looser!) You will be assimilated! By Nurse Ratchett, who is on their side! Resistance is Futile.

Now take two of these pills and repeat the mantra... "we all love drm, we all love drm, drm loves us, drm loves us."

"Lose" is the opposite of "win." "Loose" is the opposite of "tight."

I'm going to lock this one up, if you guys want to start a new thread to discuss the game rather than just the DRM (which I believe at this point has been over-discussed), please do so.
