After negotiating with my opponent to restart our game playing like japanese, we are both agree with a hard restricted home rules to avoid un-historicall situations.
Cantona2 is a reliable player with a large experience with WITP(Vanilla)/(AE), therefore I am very glad to test all these with him.
Any comment will be wellcomed.
Is an early landing of 4th Div at Pt Moresby, because you know the Allies cant defend this, within the intention stated at the start of the thread?

Is an early landing of 4th Div at Pt Moresby, because you know the Allies cant defend this, within the intention stated at the start of the thread?
Shortly after the war began, Japan's Naval General Staff recommended an invasion of Northern Australia to prevent Australia from being used as a base to threaten Japan's perimeter defenses in the South Pacific. The Imperial Japanese Army (IJA), however, rejected the recommendation, stating that it did not have the forces or shipping capacity available to conduct such an operation. At the same time, Vice Admiral Shigeyoshi Inoue, commander of the IJN's 4th Fleet (also called the South Seas Force) which consisted of most of the naval units in the South Pacific area, advocated the occupation of Tulagi in the southeastern Solomon Islands and Port Moresby in New Guinea, which would put northern Australia within range of Japanese land-based aircraft. Inoue believed the capture and control of these locations would provide greater security and defensive depth for the major Japanese base at Rabaul on New Britain. The navy's general staff and the IJA accepted Inoue's proposal and promoted further operations, using these locations as supporting bases, to seize New Caledonia, Fiji, and Samoa and thereby cut the supply and communication lines between Australia and the United States.
Obviusly, you are right... Port Moresby would not be easy to defend in starting stage, like Phillipine Islands or Malaya or D.E.I, of course. The matters is about is or not into Historical envirionment. IJA has no problem with New Guinea, I think no House Rules is needed for it... it´s an strategic option for JAPANESE PLAYER, potentially and real...very different that Australia or India at start stage of war.
Thank you for your comments

Good Luck Fletcher. Amazing detail on the opening stages of your game. I'll be watching your AAR closely, and it will be great to follow your production decisions and operations for Japan.

I see you don't have a rule for the Monsoon in Burma - we're trying something in our own game with Miller, John & Ny59giants, so if you wanna try that too... [:)]
