performance?

Hewwo everybody,

Just got this game, and although it seems interesting my performance is dreadful! For instance, opening the expansion manager screen literally takes more than a second for it to render on screen. And zooming is slow! I only played one game for an hour or so (700 stars, 5 empires), then it crashed on me (but I;m not complaining about that, since its clearly labeled beta 2).

So.. is it my system? Also, if my advisers want to tell me something the window is an actual Windows window. That cant be right, right?

Specs:

Macbook pro, windows 7 (bootcamp) 2 GB ram, 2.4 ghz core2duo, nvidia 8600GT

Hi Benji,

We haven't actually tested it on a Macbook, but I'd recommend starting by trying some of the performance suggestions in the Tech Support FAQ at the top of this forum and see if they help. Updating your graphics drivers is also worth a try and we've had some performance issues reported that were the result of some third party program interfering with the game. You could try turning off all other background programs to make sure none of them is at fault. The game should run fine on your system.
