Custom Races

Post by lordxorn »

When I edit one of the races in the text file, I change the homeworld name, what effect does this have in game? Could I request that whatever value we put there, it should be the default name of that races capital?

Since the topic is custom races I thought I'd give a heads up on another thing.
When you edit a races name in the racefile you will lose that races special government. Conversely if you desire a custom race to have a special covernment you simply need to replace an existing race in all but name.
For example I have a tyranid race (from warhammer)that is from the tyranid system has tyranid stats and troops, race picture and flagfile. That uses hivemind government. Unfortunately the tyranid civilians are going to always going to be known as slukens (to keep the hivemind gov.), I just have to roleplay that slukens are a non military class of tyranid.[:'(]

Back to your original question, I have noticed the home system often appear in game. I get the impression it is normally near a races starting position but they never seem to actually start AT the homeworld.
