TO&E upgrades...

Post by treespider »

Question about TO&E upgrades...

Lets say I have a unit with a Static Device in its TO&E and I set the TO&E to upgrade so that the new TO&E does not have a static device...what happens to the static device that is in the unit when the unit upgrades to its new TO&E?

If the static device is part on the new TOW with a zero value its returned to the pool

If its not in the new TOE its treated as an overstrength device and left in the unit at the bottom as an overstrength device

So to temporarily make a unit 'static'....

I create TO&E #1 with a Static Device....build a unit based on TO&E #1 with the static device...

Then when I want the unit released ...I upgrade the TO&E to the exact same TO&E (TO&E #2) except TO&E #2 has a static device with a number of 0.

So the excess static devices are then placed into the pool.

Correct?

So if TO&E #2 had no static device listed at all (as opposed to a number of 0) then the original static device would remain with the unit when the unit upgraded to TO&E #2?

Yes that shopuld work or you can just give your static device a device upgrade to a non static device thats how I did the Indian frontier Bdes

The static device gets upgraded to a non static version of the same device.

I did it that way because I wanted to allow them to move if the Japanese go to far north so a convoy brings enough to make them mobile of the condition is breached

Kewl beans...for my mod I am trying different ways to limit the outflow of ants from Manchuria.

Because the ants ... engineer units, AT guns, AA etc.... do not count against garrison requirements for the most part, players empty the cupboard.

I found away to keep a div temporarily permanently restricted...by breaking it down into components and permanently restricting the components ...only allowing the parent to change HQ's.

However for independent units this is a but more problematic...two solutions - Permanently restricting them then withdrawing and replacing with an unrestricted 'clone'...or making them static and upgrading them to a non-static condition...

Are the invasion triggers hard coded?

Or can I create my own triggers?

So would your static device that upgrades be the 918 Frontier Scout (static), which upgrades to 919 Frontier Scout (non-static), and would get replaced if Emergency convoy (Unit 7967) arrives?
