Somebody explains me how to use resupply ship...

- static power usage ok, fuel in reserve in case off: yes
- Deployed over a giant gas planet with caslon: yes

1. should I not get caslon in the cargo bays? I see nothing.
2. Alternatively, is it 'on demand extraction', i.e only working when there is need? But in this case, the fuel tanks of the ship would be refueled to 100%, at the very least.

- order a ship with some missing fuel to 'refuel at the resupply ship' order: check

The ship approach, dock into one of the docking bay and immediatly issue: mission complete, without having any fuel added... Normal because the supply ship, even if deployed, as no caslon in cargo.

So I don't get it, what is the basic process I have missed in order to have these puppies work?

that's what i do and it works. make sure I am deployed at the right gas and click resupply at supply ship

maybe there was a rat or AI empire attacking and disrupting the resupply order?

I tried in my main game, plus in another testbed game. Nothing works.

How is it supposed to work? Should I get caslon in storage before any ship comes for refuel? And then I guess a part of the caslon is instantly converted to fuel for the said ship?

It will not work on frozen gas giants.

I checked and this is not a frozen gas giant. The ship deploy but then drift away from the planet (another clue that it is not operating correctly).

The design has a gas extractor and cargo bays, plus a resource scanner even if the planet was already scanned. It has excess fuel, for the static usage of components, and is deployed.

I've had Mining stations do that too. Sent a constructor to build a Mining station on a Desert world. After the constructor finished building the MS the planet moved away from it. After awhile the planet was on the other side of the sun in it's orbit but the MS was still sitting where it was built. Now maybe when the planet completes it's orbit around the sun it would "pick up" the MS? Don't know as the game crashed with the ProcMn Error and I never found out.

yes 4, but in any case this would not prevent the ship from operating and dig caslon.

Still clueless. Here is the save, any volunteer is welcome to help solve this mystery, either I'm missing something or there is a bug... Search for the resupply ship in the ship list (this is a testbed game, not an actual one btw), it is deployed at a gas giant. There is a ship nearby for a refuel test.

I believe you need to build a gas mining ship or a gas mining station, not a resupply ship.

Resupply ships has a different function from a mining ship.

What drives the behavior of a ship/station, the role/subrole or the components built into it? Can I, for example, put a construction bay in a passenger ship and expect it to repair other ships?
