Planes for CVL conversions

Post by CapAndGown »

What is the deal with air groups for my CS's if I decide to convert them to CVL's? I saw someone mention that the Jakes stationed on the CS's might convert as well. Or do I need to take the Jake's off before conversion? I don't see any squadrons in tracker listed as reinforcements for the converted CVL's. So naturally, I am wondering where I might get the planes for these guys!

Assuming you are using a stock scenario, you have to do nothing. All is taken care of.

Lets assume I created a new CVL eligible CS for a mod, which I did, is there a 'how to' on what to do other than set resize date and upgrade path for the squadrons?

What about the Jake's that are currently assigned? Do I have to leave them on the CS when the conversion is ordered?

Thanks for the help.

Just believe me - it's all taken care of. Somewhere in the database are the replacement groups. I don't recall exactly what happens to the current float plane groups but you ain't gotta do a thing.

The floatplane groups withdraw and get replaced by a Zero and Kate group IIRC. When I was testing this for my CV mod I noticed that they only swapped out if they were on the ship being converted - so I assume this is the same for the standard scenarios. Apart from that, its all automatic.

Thanks. I didn't want to take the float planes off before conversion if that meant I would not get the new planes.
