Glory and Relationship

This sequel to the award-winning Crown of Glory takes Napoleonic Grand Strategy to a whole new level. This represents a complete overhaul of the original release, including countless improvements and innovations ranging from detailed Naval combat and brigade-level Land combat to an improved AI, unit upgrades, a more detailed Strategic Map and a new simplified Economy option. More historical AND more fun than the original!

Is there currently any significant Glory penalty if you DoW on a nation with whom you have a good relationship?

I don't think so.
Occasionally, and randomly, problems and solutions collide. The probability of these collisions is inversely related to the number of committees working on the solutions. -- Me.

I haven't noticed a correlation on this either (but I'm not an expert).  Sort of wonder if there should be, though.  Or else an affect on the amount of glory you win from battles or lose if you surrender, etc.

That's my thought. It seems that right now you can throw away good national relationships too easily. I think there should be SIGNIFICANT glory penalities for ending up at war with your friends.

HiHi

Mmmm, prob as I see it with setting that sort of relationship could maybe exemplified from the 109 game Andrew were you have Swedens Diplomate in England on 'Charm', whilst at the same time deliberately targeting Englash Merchants & Trading routes with your Privateers, which you build just for that purpose ... ? Ah yes...but a logical use of relationship should probably also be that privateers don't steal from merchants of countris with a high relationship.

My thinking is that the relationship between countries should have a significantly higher impact. Today, the player can be too random/rogue, throwing away a strong relationship on a whim.

HiHi

Good point that, a sort of built in penalty for bad/unhistorical behaviour :-)
