How do you tell what your national waste is?

Post by Pistachio »

From the manual (well, actually, from the PDF version of the Appendix):
In the Advanced Economy, nations lose resources from economic inefficiency based on the number of provinces owned by the nation. This is called Waste, and the amount of Waste each turn is provided on the Economy report.

Is it indeed? Perhaps I'm looking at the wrong economy report, but it doesn't seem to be there. Anyway of knowing what your "waste score" is? Or is this something else that hasn't been patched yet/isn't working as designed?

Thanks!

I think you are looking in the wrong place. The waste level is posted in the economy report-not the Economic dialog window. The economic report is above the top line of the main info box on the bottom of the screen. Across the top of that box there will be multiple reports available for supply (military), diplomacy, rumors and so on. All the way to the left there is a box which says "economy" (almost right above the Economic dialog button). Clicking on that will give you the production figures and general economic info, including the current waste. Wastage is listed just below the adjustments box towards the bottom of the report.

If those report boxes are not showing on your screen then you are looking at a line of the various national flags across the top of the main info box. There is a button above the mini map to change that to display the various reports.
Banking establishments are more dangerous than standing armies.

Aha! Many thanks. I had the 'wrong' display - [:o] - it now shows reports. Thanks again!
