Montana Class BB's stats request

Post by topeverest »

I was looking to use the Montana Class BB in a Mod I am making. I searched the notes here, but could not find it. Has someone already built the class and/or made a bitmap? Any help is appreciated.

Have a look at my scenario's (Suggest you look at #42) posted here. They include both artwork and stats for the Montana class BB.

Montana is the US version of Yamato...too big, too expensive and obsolete before it's even laid down. [;)]

Shark,

I tend to agree that by the time they will be available, the histocial war is probably over...just being thorough on the mod which is a Jpanese 'Total' war scn with substantially expanded Japanese Navy & Air. Also Russia can only be triggered by being attacked or undergarrisoning Manchuko...oh an no atomic bomb. Much more likely these montana's will come into play.

Doesn't mean they're not fun to play with.

The artwork is numbers 0707, 0708 and 0709 in my artwork packs. If you'd like, I can post them here for you.

You should go back and look at Friedman some more, the 5" gunhouses on the Montana should be armored 100 lbs of STS, the equiv of of 65mm armor. This armor was for anti-strafing and to defeat heavy bomb/large caliber shell fragments.

This is yet another case of incomplete research done by the game designers.

35lbs = 25mm

STS is special strength steel also used for armor and splinter protection. Though almost as tough as homogeneous armor it was more ductile and weldable.

North Carolina Class - 78lbs STS
South Dakota - 80lbs STS
Iowa - 100lbs STS
Montana - 100lbs STS
