hardware requirements for Warring Suns

Post by cyavhn »

Some time ago I asked if Warring
Suns would run on a 233
MHz machine and was told OK. What I didn`t mention was I have only 2 MB of video. Will it still run "OK"?

If you can run 800x600 at 16 bit depth you should be fine.

Sw33t! I'm glad there's something I can run on this thing.

Honestly, I go spend $1200 on a new Celeron machine only to find out that ASUS were too tightarsed to put in an AGP slot.

Gee, thanks! Best motherboard manufacturer on the planet, my tucus!

hehe, no, worst manufacturer award goes to AST... They arent in business that i know of, though their site is still up. Got P133 from them, that uses a proprietary chipset and memory. (i.e. i cant upgrade either)

No, wait, I take that back. Worst manufacturer is NRI. They do learning courses for comps, and my dad took one. They gave him a 486 to do some stuff with (this was like 8 years ago) and the HD connectors were GLUED IN to the motherboard and hard drive. Alot of other connectors were glued as well. That comp is collecting dust, monitor blew out a year ago.

/me begins froththing at mouth.

AST!...KILL!!!!

Seriously, first ever 486 I had was an AST. I resolved never to buy name brand computers ever again.

How much did I hate that frigging thing?

Let me see: Once I'd got my new computer, I took it to the top of a 3 storey mining tower, chucked it off, then my friend and I raced back to the ground to pummel it to bits with cricket bats and scatter the pulversied remains in the river.

For the record, I STILL have the BIOS chip because I haven't figured out anything suitably evil to do to it. Personally, I've love to be able to dissolve it in Sulfuric acid or something.

korg: not evil enough, i'd suggest imbedding it in a barbie doll, take a stake, tying it up with a ken, then burn the whole thing while taping it, (in witch stake burning style), might be evil enough....

and the only 'brand name' comp's i ever owned was my old amiga's, and i had no problem with those(i learned from friends to NEVER buy a brand name IBM-PC thingie).

That's a cool idea!

I'm gonna go find that chip, then ask my sister is she doesn't mind me taking her old Barbie and ken doll, dressing them up, soaking them with kerosene and lighting them on fire!

Taping it could be a problem. No video camera...no working VCR either.
