Hi! I'm back!
Acid ammo will damage ToS slowly, not instant. And car battery acid is relativetly weak acid, in weapon may be concentrated H2SO4 may be used.
And new idea: greanade multi launcher- it'll be like super-short range misseles, but do more damage(simply replace rocket engine and fuel with bigger warhead).

(Been reading my KJV bible too much)
Thou shalt not mount weapons that useth ammunition in thine Titan's Head or in the servo that doth contain thine Engine.
For to so so is to invite much wailing and gnashing of teeth when the inevitable ammo explosion doth relieve thine titan of it's head, or even if the engine explodeth with the secondary damage.
OK?

I think external weapons will be nice:
if you have no enought crits you can place wepon outside the location, but you'll have to armor it additionally.
And some special inderect-only fire wepon: vertical heavy missile launcher, it'll launch one BIG(damage 20-25) missile always using inderect fire(with some bonus +5 or +10), and size of approximately LRM12

well what about having ammo slots that don't have to be in areas that the gun is in because to me that kinda makes sense (a pistol has a clip in it holding bullets but something like a chaingun has a pack of bullets on the back of a guy or in a box not connected directly to the gun) and it would give me an actual use for the center back torso other than using it as a titan junk draw so to speak

well, onto suggestions.
#1 external(modularized) weapons, like stuff in holsters, guns or close combat weapons, removes the annoying choice between hands and close combat weapon, and would also free up some for "magazines. atleast it would be a nice change....although to be honest i dont think this would sit well with the current mechanics, even if i would like it....would take to much recoding, might be added as "alternate setting" for 3.0 or something, kinda anime style, but it would need serious rework on the 'how does a mech work' to get the correct anime feel for it....
#2 definitly more close combat weapons, and btw. how come a lowtech primitive chainsaw does more damage then a power axe?....hmm, diamond edged sawblade? would work....anyway, i want SWORDS!(wich could be created using chainsaw technique easy enough).
#3 30mm chainguns(or similar stuff), these babies rip armor to shreds, actualy asfar as i know, they are the most effective damage dealing things we got right now...on this side of nukes an'****.....and they SPEW out grenades, the ammo actualy weighs ALOT more then the weapon....hmm, on second thought, these would prolly not be liked....to effective, even if they would weigh alot for them to have any staying power....selectable burst fire....different fire modes, i miss these things...not likely to appear in 2.0....but perhaps in 3.0....
#4 (not a weapon, but a suggestion), (stealthy)deployable sensors, to make better use of missiles, would ofcourse require scanner linking, as usual.
#5 (again, not a weapon) what kind of reactor do these things run on? fusion? fission? wichever it SHOULD generate heat....(another variable, wich would make for more of a choice in things) and a coolant system would prolly use peltier thingies, add electricity, makes one side hot, the other cold.....ahwell, the power consumption would prolly not be very high...
#6 nah, dont think i got any more ideas right now.....dont worry, i got plenty more moronic ideas inside my really sleepy skull, just cant remember'em right now.

#7 hover jets instead of jump jets-generates no actual lift but instead propels a titan along the grounds surface (requiring skill checks or something for take off and over terrain like forests and hills or water) it could propel a heavier class like heavy or assualt at the same speed as a light or recon at the cost of heat, energy, and somesort of fuel like a jumpjet
EDIT:
#8 "jet classes" that use longer lasting jumpjets to stay in the air more permanently and use air-to-ground/air-to-air weaponry while also moving faster than lights or recons but at a max weight of something like a recon or light (or possibly lighter) and sacrificing armor and normal weapon systems for something lighter like A-T-G bombs or S.R.M. or L.R.M. missles that carry lesser amounts of ammo
........just a thought that is do-able......................

My my, someone's been busy reading up on their Mekton Zeta, haven't they?
Let's face it, the only anime inspired thing in ToS is the AI Rookies :p (Look ma! I'm 16 and with no training, but I can still singlehandedly defeat waves of murderous veterans!)
And frankly I think it's probably better that way. The way ToS works is very finely balanced, and adding stylised elements from Anime would almost certainly screw that up.
I like hoverjets, though. Something that allows the bigger titan classes to move quickly in a striaght line over fairly level terrain would be useful...if only to run away
