Diplomacy 1900 Revised

Post by ernieschwitz »

I have been playing alot lately with the 1900 diplomacy Scenario, made by Tom Weber. I made a few changes, and i thought that i might as well let you all have a go at it, and see what you think.

Here is the list of changes i made so far:

Changes include:
A). Resources - that can be researched, so some countries get a historic boost of resources. These are automatically placed on the map if the player is AI. Currently only Great britain, The ottoman empire, Russia and some minors have resources.

B). A chance to take over a minor country that has been invaded by a major power. The cost of this is perhaps too low as of now, but will be changed if it is found out to be.

C). AI that reacts to pleas sent by minor countries that have been attacked by major countries. This so far only applies in Europe. And only countries i have deemed to be interested in taking over a country enough to start a major war has a percentage chance of doing so.

D). Fixes of Malta and Gibraltar. They where not ports, nor airfields, they are now.

E). Fixes of Desert combat. It was set to 0 for all units, causing it to be very hard to kill anything in a desert.

F). Fixes of SMG so it is now a unit that gets bonus for defending as well as attacking, in enclosed spaces.

G). Nerfed balkan wars some, so they occur less frequently and less chances major powers will be involved. Chances reduced to 8% actually, and 20% for Russia and Austria-Hungary. 30% for the Ottoman Empire.

H). Nerfed transcap of trucks, so trains have purpose, over trucks. As it was they had the same transcap, causing trucks to be more useful than trains, since trains could travel the same distance, but only on roads.

I). Added a few colonial cities. Just 2 in fact. These are Bizerte and Casablanca. Making France alittle more powerful... but not much.

J). Added the option to have the nr. of VPs you own generate 1 PP pr. This allowed some restricted research ability to countries, even after they had gone into a major war.

K). Changed making peace with major powers, so that it now gives 50pp to the regime that has been made peace with.

What do you all think? :)

There is currently a small bug, that does not allow you to play the revised version of the game if you play the prologue. I will correct it shortly, and reupload the scenario. The issue is that when the prologue is played then the game loaded is not the revised version, but the unrevised version.

Well, not having played this one my opinions don't count for much. I'm playing the "Global Domination" mod which I believe is at least somewhat inspired by this scenario. Making peace is possible ? That's great, I wish we could have that opition and a small incentive is a good idea. The French are under powered IMHO so additional colonial cities is a good idea. Desert combat, been noticing that it's really tough to drive off an otherwise easily killed ememy.
History began July 4th, 1776. Anything before that was a mistake.
