I don't have the game on my home computer.  I only play at work, so my wife has only the vaguest notion of my obsession.  But I need to tell you guys that she is very suspicious of this entire culture.  I'm sure she thinks there's something improper going on around these parts...

Any job openings there?[:D][:D]

Well, she'd be right about that.

Sure, if you can fix website destroyed by an incompetent boss/web designer.

Oh, and the pay is $1,000 per annum.

My wife drops the remarks about all of my time on the computer "playing that game" and also about my AAR (shameless plug) in the WITP forum.  But, she doesn't go beyond that as she browses the internet at her desk in our office at home.  I've told her that next are AE PBEMs as the WITP ones grind on and she rolls with it.

I never thought that doing an AAR would be so time consuming and difficult.

I spent about 6 months a year at sea prior to retirement.
Since retirement, I spend about 6 moths a year down in my 'cave' on the computer.
'Nuthins changed here. Matter of fact, I think she likes it!!!!
However, in stressed times I recommend the following:
An occassional bunch of flowers; $6 at the local market, and
A 2 liter box of vintage (12 month old) pink Chablis; $12 at the local market
If things get tense, as life will at times, one can up the ante with:
A bunch of thorny roses; $12 at the local market, and
A jug of Cap't Morgan and a six pack of coke, if necessary........
Give her a hug....................

I am fortunate to have a wife who is very supportive of all the time I spend on the game. She even closely followed one of my AARs (though it was a very unconventional AAR). And she recently not only let me make an addition to her beloved fishtank, she even claims to really like it...

AE got me a trip to Maui.  I wailed when an IJN sub torped the S.S. Lahaina and sank her within sight of Maui.  Gave my wife the idea and she got us plane tickets and an ocean-front condo for a week.

Now there is a tangible reward that comes from playing this game[:D]

Last year just before AE came out, I had to break the news to her about *another* new improved WiTP game coming out. I braced her for the news early, a couple months before the release. She took it like I had just informed her that, 'oh, by the way, I'm starting back up on my Heroin habit again'.

Thankfully, she has her own computer for web browsing her horsey and craft sites. We both snicker at one another's hobbies occasionally. She'll tell me about spinning Yak hair and I'll tell her about sinking USN BBs with obsolescent IJNAF aircraft. Sometimes, in the quietest moments, she'll ask me, "how goes the war in the Pacific?"

Vive la differance! Vive les Enablers!

You had a heroin habit[X(][:D]

Please excuse my OT response here.
I just can't help seeing this thread an extension of the old Muppet Show. The real enternainment was the three old geezers up in the side box critiquing the show everyone else paid to see!
Not a complaint.
But you guys got me in stiches, reading these forums!!!!!
