The POSSUM scenario

Post by Magnno44 »

Hi there,

I downloaded the Possum scenario yesterday. Possum has done some great in-depth research that I just have to see applied to WIR. Fantastic job!

I had a quick look at it yesterday and I saw something peculiar about the map. The railroads seem to have a slight miss-match especially at the crossings. Many cities are without names.

Is it supposed to be this way or have I f*cked up loading up his scenario?

Yes the Possum Szenario is great. A few things: The XXXVI Gebirgskorps under Dietl was in the Petsamo area. Therefore shouldnt be on the map.

And this: It seems that sowjets airwings dont return after once overruned. I am with possum now at 5/42 and the sowjets have only around 30 air units left!

If I got correctly what you mean then yes - map just looks like that.

Hello,
I'm glad you like it!In answer to several questions.
1) some towns have no names, that is because they are present only as a map icon, there being insufficent space in the database to add them in.
2)Some railway junctions look strange, this is becaus the map tile set dosn't have a 60 deg junction tile, so I've used the Crossover tile instead, to get the right connectivity.
3) the XXXVI Gebirskorps is on the map because the Soviet 7th and 14th Armies are also on the Map.
These two Soviet armies should also be off the map, but are on the map so the player can have immediate access to the assigned troops.
(think of all three of these armies/korps as being an off map holding box.)
"We're having a war, and we want you to come!"
So the pig began to whistle and to pound on a drum.
"We'll give you a gun, and we'll give you a hat!"
And the pig began to whistle when they told the piggies that.
