Detailed combat reporting

Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: The German-Soviet War 1941-1945 is a turn-based World War II strategy game stretching across the entire Eastern Front. Gamers can engage in an epic campaign, including division-sized battles with realistic and historical terrain, weather, orders of battle, logistics and combat results.

The critically and fan-acclaimed Eastern Front mega-game Gary Grigsby’s War in the East just got bigger and better with Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: Don to the Danube! This expansion to the award-winning War in the East comes with a wide array of later war scenarios ranging from short but intense 6 turn bouts like the Battle for Kharkov (1942) to immense 37-turn engagements taking place across multiple nations like Drama on the Danube (Summer 1944 – Spring 1945).

The one thing that I taking away from the AAR screenies is the game interface. It looks to be very well thought out out. Is there a description or an explanation for each of the functions or do I have to wait until the game is released?[8|]  Most are self explanatory but whats up with F3 & F4?

ahhhh, I lost 4 turns of screen shots

but basicly, we been having a major back and forth down around Rostov, and in the middle, the Russian just keeps on pushing

I have blocked or trapped them a few times, but they keep breaking my lines

so, I ended up shifting some of my Armor down, and massed the armor I had in the middle, I also, shifted most of the rest of my armor (motor) troops north to help there

then the Russian made a major drive toward Oral

got to say, my timing was perfect, my Armor I had shifted was just in the right place, to complete the trap

not sure how well these arrows will show up, but this is the basic path I hope to follow

got to expect a ton of Russian Units are on reserve, so, got to block them off also

got to be tricky, as I need to bull my way in, and still be able to set up a defence if I do get my breakthough

NO

they can still pull supply form ports on the coast (the whole point of my drive, that is not going anywhere, I have 2 of the 3 Eastern Ports (from early screen shots, you will see some units to the west of Leningrad, they are supplied from a port)

I kind of disagree with them being in full supply, those ports are not big enough to move units, so they shouldn't be able to carry much, enough to keep the rats fed, but...

well, that went well !!!

start my drive, think it took 3 attacks to break that last hex, but it broke, now to see if I can defend my gains, if so, I got a nasty pocket formed

Looks like AI went wonky stacking all those units behind each other. If they were NKVD then yes cause they be shooting at their own units to keep them from running.

to be honest, no, that is what you want, it is very HARD to set up a single line, that is strong enough to with stand my Panzers, but now with this, I can attack and not breakthough, I can push back a few units and still not get anywhere, plus, all of those units can be set to reserve, and where ever I attack, I got a chance of drawing 1 to 4 or so, units to the battle (so I can risk hasty attack, I got go with set peice, which burns up all of my MPs)

plus the ones behind the line, also get to refit

so, for me, all I can really try to do, is take small bites out of it (while trying to keep my line intact)

it is not pretty but it works
