Fortress Hong Kong

Dec 20: The fortress at Hong Kong still stands after another attack. John has not brought in any more troops.

Landings: Attu

Subs/ASW:
I-165 surfaces near Toboali and sinks a fleeing xAKL Bust with gunfire.

Carriers:
KB2 is at Sangkawang and sends out 6 Vals and then 6 Kates to sink two fleeing xAKLs from Singapore as they try to reach the Indian Ocean, but cannot get past Toboali.

Malaya:
Temuloh - The rear guard of 1st Hyderabad Battalion is still being hit as the retreating troops from Kota Bharu make their way through the jungle. 44 Sally come in at 8,000 feet.

Kuantan - 3rd HK&S Light AA Regiment is still trying to get away from this base and hopes to make Singapore, but 16 Sally and 20 Lily come in at 5,000 feet.

Georgetown - Only Penang Fortress is left here and is cut off from the rest of the troops on the peninsula as 11 Mary attack.

Sumatra:
Palembang - John sends in a SC TF to take out my PT Boats. They have not hit a thing since this game began. [:(]

Dec 21: Today's Intel reports heavy radio traffic at 159, 148 (8 SE of Canton Island). Maybe KB or a SC TF to try to find shipping in the Line Islands.

Palembang - 17 unescorted Nell hit the AF and destroy one of my Chinese DC -2s. Time to move them out as there isn't much left to transport into this base. The AF damage is Airbase hits 2, Airbase supply hits 1, Runway hits 17.

Hong Kong - Hong Kong Fortress is the target of choice of 19 Ida and 19 Sonia. While the Kowloon Brigade is attacked by 12 Ida and 21 Sonia. Then, the 102nd RN Base Force is hit by 8 Sonia.

Philippines:
Lingayen - 7 Nate escort in 11 Lily to find a "lost" P-40E Warhawk on CAP. It does shoot down a Nate before the AF is hit - Airbase hits 1, Runway hits 6.

Manila - 1st PA Infantry Division is attacked by 7 Sally that come in without escort. 9 P-40B/E Warhawk are on CAP, but only damage them.

Palembang Landing

Dec 22: Invasion of Palembang has begun. I have transported in most of available troops, except from Java.

Landings: Palembang, Kudat, Balabac

Subs/ASW:
I-159 sinks a CM 2 hexes west of Koepang.
KXII is protecting the river to Palembang and get her sights set on CA Kumano. She gets a single torpedo hit.

Carriers:
KB2 (2CVs), 3 CVL, 1 CVE are ALL 3 hexes ESE of Palembang!!

Malaya:
Temuloh - 1st Hyderabad Battalion is attacked by 40 Sally.

Georgetown - Same as last two days!

Sumatra:
Palembang - 6 Zero and 5 Oscar escort in 18 Nell to hit the AF - 1 B-339D destroyed on ground, Airbase hits 5, Airbase supply hits 2, Runway hits 20.

CVE Hosho is targeted by 4 B-17D Fortress off Toboali. There is a strong CAP of 57 Zero and all my B-17s are turned back. Another wave of 3 B-17s have the same fate. In the afternoon, those same 57 Zero are still on CAP as another 3 B-17D Fortress try to hit CVL Shoho without success.

Malaya:
Temuloh - 1st Hyderabad Battalion is attacked by 39 Sally.
