Curious Problem

Based on Slitherine’s popular tabletop wargaming system by the same name, Field of Glory now comes to the PC in a faithful adaptation of this acclaimed miniatures wargame! Without the calculations and measurements required for a tabletop game of Field of Glory, the PC version accurately represents Ancient and Medieval combat where you make the important and fun decisions on the battlefield. This forum also supports the Rise of Rome, Storm of Arrows and Immortal Fire expansions to Field of Glory.

Curious Problem

Post by baldbrother »

I have a curious problem. On about four occasions when playing the battle Orchonenus my computer shuts itself down and has to be re-started. This has happened in replays and in my turn. I've played a lot of the other scenarios without this problem - or any other problem - occurring. Has anyone else come across this? Any ideas? This glitch does not happen, as I said, in the other scenarios nor with anything else I do on the computer. Any help appreciated otherwise I'll never finish my current battle!

Sorry you are having problems. Normally if the game crashed it would just drop to the desktop. It sounds like your machine may overheating as this is teh only reason I know of for it shutting down like this. Why it would happen in this scenario is a mystery. It may be a very large map, or lots of units - maybe the 3D part of the graphics are just too much for your system.

Make sure you have nothign else runnign and get rid of any system tray programs that eat up memory and processor time and give it another try. Check your graphcis card settings too - make sure they're not overloading your system.

Thank you for the reply. Not sure how to check the graphic cards settings to see if they are overloading the system but I'll dick around and see what I can find. Great game by the way!
