Noobie intercept questions

Eagle Day to Bombing of the Reich is a improved and enhanced edition of Talonsoft's older Battle of Britain and Bombing the Reich. This updated version represents the best simulation of the air war over Britain and the strategic bombing campaign over Europe that has ever been made.

Noobie intercept questions

Post by CarnageINC »

Hello all, love the game, much improved over original so much so that its kicking my arse. [:'(] I've been playing both sides with BOB40 getting ready for the BTR campaign.

I've got some questions on interception,I can't seem to get the same results in kill ratio as the RAF does when its the AI. Is it best to launch fighters by packets or as whole squadrons at escorted bombers and should I launch the closest fighters then go back further and further for patrols, I figure it give them more station time and the ones further back go right into interception.

Any advice would be helpful, I just feel so overwhelmed by this monster! [:D]

part of it is play style, the rest is hitting raids you can damage

you have to get though the fighters, before you do any real damage to the bombers, plus, depends on the type, if I see Stukas, I try to mass everything I can get into the area

I liked to mass on the  Italian groups also....or has Hard Sarge forgotten...BTW, my interceptors sometimes got the bombers inbound, LW Fighter escorts mangled them on the inbound raids, but sometimes, just some times, you can mangle the bombers on the way out, when there fewer of them or if there are no escorts with them. Only once I believe did I get the Italians to turn back on way in, but not sure..
