Game(s) keep crashing

Post by mavraamides »

Hi all!

Just picked this game up and love it except: it keeps crashing in the campaigns after 3 or 4 turns. Both on my laptop and desktop in WF and EF. Usually it happens when I hit 'N' or click the next unit button. Just get a message saying ef.exe has encountered a problem and it will now close (or wf.exe).

I'm running on Vista 32 on both.

I'm patched up to 1.04

Any other info I can give to help diagnose?

I've heard of this problem before on the forums, but I thought it had been fixed.  At some point I anticipate Jason will post and give you an accurate status on what, if anything, can be done about it.

The 'n' key was the problem in the previous posts.  I never use the 'n' key.  When I want to see which units still have action points, I put the screen in one of the 3d modes and hit the 't' key, which brings up a thermometer for each unit.  If the thermometer is full red, then the unit hasn't used any action points.  If the thermometer isn't red but is blue or green, then press 'u,' which will bring up a unit screen on the right.  Click on a unit, and then click on the red part of the circle for the unit.  That'll put the thermometer on the action points.

Thanks for the quick reply!

I'll try your trick and hopefully it works because I'm really enjoying this game except for that one problem.

Looks like that solves it! As long as I never use the next unit feature, everything works great. Thanks again, back to The Road to Moscow!
