Please say its less than 2gigs?

Command Ops: Battles From The Bulge takes the highly acclaimed Airborne Assault engine back to the West Front for the crucial engagements during the Ardennes Offensive. Test your command skills in the fiery crucible of Airborne Assault’s “pausable continuous time” uber-realistic game engine. It's up to you to develop the strategy, issue the orders, set the pace, and try to win the laurels of victory in the cold, shadowy Ardennes.
Command Ops: Highway to the Reich brings us to the setting of one of the most epic and controversial battles of World War II: Operation Market-Garden, covering every major engagement along Hell’s Highway, from the surprise capture of Joe’s Bridge by the Irish Guards a week before the offensive to the final battles on “The Island” south of Arnhem.

How about "Will it work on a Netbook?" I just bought me one and Panzer Command Kharkov works on it so how's about BftB? Huh? What say you?

Its very CPU heavy this game....so I doubt you will be able to play the big scenarios....COTA's big scenarios can slowdown a little when Im upping the speed on my duo core 3.7 with 2 gig and a 4870 1gig card.

I use my daughters netbook for the internet only as they just aren't made for games.

MajFrankBurnes,

Don't know if it will run on a netwbook. We don'[t have one to test it on nor do we vouch that it will do so.

What's the screen size of a netbook. If it's at least 1024 x 768 and it can run Win XP or better then there is a good chane it will run. However, we make no promiss that it will. BFTB will run on my 7 year old dev machine which is now a very sad beast, spec wise. For me I find it unacceptably slow on this old machine, but it does run.

You can adjust the screen size to 1024 x 768 but it's base size is 1024 x 600. It also came with XP installed.

I've gotten the following games to run on it already:

Combat Mission series

Take Command 2nd Manassas & Bull Run

Conquest: Medieval something by Slitherine

Civilization II Gold

Master of Magic

Master of Orion II

X-Com's both of them

Age of Rifles

Centurion Defender of Rome

95% of all the SSI games I have and rpg gold box series games

Panzer Command: Winter Storm & Kharkov (this one required 1024 x 768 also) Amazingly I can run these in High terrain and High Details with 8 anthroscopic filtering on. Hell I think it runs faster on my netbook than my I7 lol!

1830 Railroads & Robber Barrons

A ton of DOS games from the 80's to Win98 era. Games I can't get to run require a stupid cd disc to be installed and the netbook doesn't come with a cdrom because of its size. I do have an external hard drive I am transporting most games from my desktop to it though.

@Wodin the Netbook as it is runs LOTS of GAMES on it and runs them well too. It won't run graphics intensive games of course but I don't play them anyways. It runs every HPS and SHRAPNEL game I have and so far all of the Matrixgames I have thrown at it.

back at Arjuna I still have a very powerful desktop to play BftB even if it doesn't work on the Netbook. It would have been interesting to hear how it runs before I install it on it though. You really should test ALL avenues of gaming platforms for the computer you know? [:'(] Netbooks are becoming very popular for the young as they are cheap $200 and parents are more willing to shell out that kind of money for a computer for them than $500 plus on a laptop or desktop. This thing is perfect for work and easy to hide when someone pops in. I can close the lid and cover it up with a sheet of paper and you wouldn't even notice it was there if you didn't look hard for it. [:'(]

If anything I'd say the Netbook right now is great for retro DOS gaming and even some modern ones that aren't graphics intensive. Plus there's a new one on the horizon an 1.8xghz model and a better graphics card. Looking at most wargames and of course all DOS games the Netbook can easily become a great compact portable wargaming and strategy gaming machine.

Now to just find a way to get Medieval Total War to run without a cd disc. [&o]
