controlling resource flow ?

Post by seille »

Not long ago i read about a "problem" where all resources moved to Port Arthur even from Rangoon/Singapore.
In my game it flows the other direction. Port Arthur is losing resources and Singapore is piling up more and more.
Singapore is like a magnet here. I now have to ship it back the long way to Japan.
Is there any way to control the flow of oil/fuel/resources ? Like i can do with supply ?
Is the only way to increase the port size ?

It would be helpful if i could move resources to places i want if there is a land connection.

Any guy´s with similar problems or maybe solutions ?

I am running a simple test scenario on this subject at present. Will let you know once I see better what is going on.

I haven't experienced that, at least for the OIL and FUEL, which seems to stay in Port Arthur

Don't ship RESOURCES from Singapore BTW, that's a waste of effort, unless you are returning empty ships to the Home Islands anyway.

Somebody should be bringing supply down to Singapore. I believe it makes sense to have a convoy that ships resources from Singapore to the Home Islands and brings back supply.

As to the OP: I have not seen stuff flow from Port Arthur down to Singapore. Perhaps you have captured Changsa and cleared the rail line from there to Liuchow? That is the only way I can see such a transfer happening. Mostly what I see is that all the resources in China, all the way down to Pakhoi flow up to Port Arthur.

That´s the way i go, too. Using Formosa as a hub.

Singapore was captured in turn 76 with:
61k resources
14.600 fuel

Now in turn 118 i have there:
537k resources (already pulled some resources out...)
241k fuel

My resources in PA fell within 10 days after capturing Singapore from 200k to 500.
Looked strange to me.
But maybe it is possible that Singapore just sucked all the ressources from Malaya bases and that the 10-day-drop of ressources in PA just resulted
in normal convoy activity.
Changsha i have no captured so far

I see similar issues in other areas, like Tasmania. Sometimes the resources go to one base, sometimes to another, other times they level out to all of them. Annoying only as then convoys have to sit around to fill up to take the resources to Oz.

But then, there are examples where LI or HI is not being used in India at say Hyderabad due to lack of resources when there is 250,000 in Madras. And this will happen quite often. Something is a little hinky with the resource flow.

As can be seen, plenty of resources in India, but not always flowing to Hyderabad. Not sure why and no real control.

If you check the industry screen, does it show Hyderabad as producing or failing? Since resources move before LI produces, Tracker can't really tell you if LI/HI is working or not. The in-game industry screen can verify this.

Erstad - yes Tracker can and it does ... this has been working since 1.5. If Pax has 1.5.1, then these messages are the same as the game and 100% accurate. There is something hinky with this case of resource movement.

Using 1.5.1

Hyderabad is not producing in game either.

I have the some problem in Hokkaido with regards to Heavy Industry, where Sapporo and Mururoan do not receive fuel that is sitting in port at Hakodate doing nothing. I have more than 15k fuel there. Maybe I need to ship more fuel to Hokkaido to overcome the Hakodate port fuel request, and finally have fuel moving to the Heavy Industry area.
