...looks as though all AAR threads not updated since the start of November 2009 have been pulled. So I shall probably never get to see how things appeared on 'the other side of the hill' in our PBEM.

No. They are there. There is a filter up toward the top right side "Display topics from last:" The default setting is "365 days" Just change that to "All topics" and then you can see the older threads.

I must have got used to there being pages of AAR threads, but obviously the decline in postings on WitP means there will be progressively fewer threads with posts made less than one year ago. Stupid me for not realising this.

Looks like my opponent decided to discontinue his AAR, unfortunately.
